Jarrett Lilien established Bendigo Partners in May, 2008, seeking to fill the need for hands-on operational know-how in the financial services market place. Jarrett has enjoyed a 24-year career in financial services, running both retail and institutional businesses, both in brokerage and banking, online and off. He has lived and worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and New York. Jarrett was co-founder and CEO of TIR Securities, a global institutional stock broker, which was subsequently sold to E*TRADE Financial. As Chief Brokerage Officer, he took E*TRADE Financial from losses to sustained profitability. As President and Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible for building the premier online financial services franchise and delivering five record years of customer growth and earnings. Jarrett participated, as an operator, in deals totaling well over $3 billion. As well as leading negotiations and deal structures, he had direct responsibility for post-deal integrations and platform conversions.

Jarrett was acting CEO of E*TRADE Financial from November 2007 until leaving in March of 2008, steering the company and its customers through the beginnings of the financial crisis and laying the foundation for E*TRADE’s recovery.

Jarrett’s past Board seats have included E*TRADE Group, IL&FS Investsmart (Indian broker), SBI Securities (Japanese broker), Strike (US ECN), Archipelago (US ECN), E*TRADE Australia, E*TRADE Korea and TIR Securities. Jarrett currently sits on the Boards of The Barton Group, The Baryshnikov Arts Center, The Jazz Foundation of America (of which he is President), WFUV Radio, and Wisdom Tree Investments.
